What's a BarCamp?

BarCampRDU brings together local technology gurus, writers, web developers, entreprenuers, engineers and open minded geeks of all kinds. We gather together at Red Hat HQ and create our own local tech conference.

Just as we have in the past, we'll gather to pre-party on Friday evening before camp for drinks, introductions and conversation. In the morning our sponsors will provide breakfast and coffee when you arrive and then we'll work together to pitch sessions, organize the schedule and create a great tech conference on the fly. Red Hat provides the rooms and whiteboards. Other sponsors will help us to provide drinks and water throughout the day and a t-shirt too, if you want.

We need your help to create a great BarCamp. We need people to help staff the event and help with organizing before the event. If you'd like to help, contact us at the email address below. If you'd like to donate a small amount, then please use our PayPal account and let us know your name, site and URL if you'd like is to link to you.

Sponsor a big-ticket item

We're also seeking sponsors for our big-ticket items: pre-party, breakfast, lunch and t-shirts. If you'd like to volunteer or help out by sponsoring $300 more, please contact me . For these larger donations you get your logo on the event t-shirt, your logo on the event signage and recognition on the blog and wiki.

NOTE: Attendance is limited to 200 attendees due to space.

This year we're using Eventbrite for registration and we're asking some questions to help us do better planning so no meals or t-shirts go to waste. Help us out. If you register then decide not to attend then PLEASE let us know.
